Tobias Hysen with a great winner
Gothenburg took the lead after just four minutes, an unlucky Jesper Nyholm put the ball in his own net. After 13 minutes the teams was even due to a beautiful free kick from Amin Affane. IFK had the greatest chances but good goalkeeping from Stamatopoulos denied them a leading goal. After the break Gothenburg continued to have possesion of the ball but they had to wait until four minutes from the end before the deserved winner came, and what a beautiful goal it was. Tobias Hysen hit the ball perfectly from outside the box, a goal that really summed up a great tournament and a deserved victory for IFK Gothenburg. Molde won the tournament at the same point and the same goal score as IFK, but they scored the most goals in one match and therefor turned out as winners of The Dubai International Cup 2017.
Gothenburg or Molde will win it
If Gothenburg beat AIK by two goals or more, or they score three goals or more in a win they are the winners of The Dubai International Cup, if not Molde turn out as winners. If the Swedes win 2-1 both teams are even in goal different and Molde will win the tournament due to most goals scored in one game.
Hacken win against a young Midtjylland side
After a scoreless first half the goals came after the break. First the Danes took the lead trough Jonas Borring but only a minute later Hacken got a penalty after Rasmus Nicolaisen brought down Alexander Farnerud. Alhassan Kamara scored from the penalty spot. A very young Midtjylland side fought hard but with a little bit more than 10 minutes to go David Engstroem scored the winner on a fine header.
Oh deer what are you doing here?
Today Molde had a little deer visiting their training session, and the deer proved to be faster than Christoffer Remmer.
Even if today was the warmest day with temperatures around 30 , both IFK, Molde and the deer had good sessions in the sun.
In the afternoon Midtjylland had a great volleyball match at the beach after some hours by the pool. Tomorrow they play their finale match in The Dubai International Cup against Häcken.
Victory on penalties for Midtjylland
It was an even first half at Jebel Ali Center of Excellence. The Danish side took the lead after 23.minutes thanks to a goal from Filip Novak, A fine header from Ero Pekka Sakkari Markanen after 37 minutes made it 1-1 at half time. A scoreless second half ment that the match had to be decided with a penalty shootout. Midjyllands goalkeeper turned out to be the hero saving Daniel Sundgren try. Goalscorers from the spot for the Danes was Mikkel Duelund, Kristian Riis, Andre Romer and Jakob Poulsen while Bruninhos shot was saved by Oscar Linner.. For AIK Rickson Mansiamina, Ero Pekka Sakari Markkanen hit the back of the net while Johan Blombergs penalty went wide.
Molde best from the penalty spot
Molde was in the lead against the play after 45 minutes. The Norwegian side had 9 players in the stand not able to play, but still managed to keep FCK from scoring, and 2 minutes before the interval Ottar Magnus Karlsson scored after a great counter attack. FCK came very close but Rasmus Falks effort was saved by goalkeeper Neydson da Silva who came on for a injured Andreas Linde after 28 minutes.
After the break the play was a bit more even, FCK had the most of the ball but Molde was dangerous on their breaks. With a little over 15 minutes to go Copenhagen got their equalizer through a great header from Jores Okore. The 90 minutes ended in a draw and for the second time today it was a penalty shootout. The Molde goalkeeper Neydson da Silva made two great saves from Tom Høgli and Andrija Pavlovic, and when Molde only missed once trough Fredrik Aursnes, Sander Svendsen stept up and converted the winner. Joona Toivio, Christoffer Remmer, against his old club, and Ottar Magnus Karlsson also scored for Molde. Jan Gregus, Benjamin Verbic and Nicolai Boilesen did the job for FCK.
Gothenburg win after penalty shootout
After IFK started the match best the Danes took more and more control of the game and after 16 minutes a terrible mistake by central defender Tomas Rogne gave Christian Noergaard the oportunity to set up Teemu Pukki for the first goal. Just after half an hour Tobias Hysen won a duel in the middle of the field and Soren Rieks completed his fine run putting the ball past goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey for the equaliser. One minute from half time Brondby where back in the lead due to a fine strike from Rodolph Austin. In the second half Brondby created a lot of chances but good goalkeeping from Pontus Dahlberg kept the Swedes in the game. With just seconds remaining of the injury time Elias Omarsson grabbed the equalizer and the match went to a penalty shootout. The Swedes scored on all five spot kicks trough Sebastian Olsson, Elias Omarsson, August Erlingmark, Mattias Bjaersby and Emil Salomonsson. Pontus Dahlberg saved the first penalty from Rezan Colru. Rodolph Austin, Gustaf Nilsson and Hjortur Hermansson scored on their penalty kicks but the Sweds turned out as winners.
Van der Vaart and Midtjylland the latest arrivers
FC Midjylland are the latest team to arrive for The Dubai International Cup. They checked in at the Jebel Ali Hotel just before 3 am and 9 hours later they where on the pitch for their first training session. On Wednesday they will have their first match in the tournament against AIK from Stockholm. In the squad are the dutch superstar Rafael van der Vaart who joined the club last summer. The man with 109 caps for Holland really enjoyed himself on the pitch today.
IFK Gothenburg really enjoys Dubai
The blue and whites have really settled in and todays session in the sun was done in a very good mood. The conditions was far from the sandstorm that forced them indoors on their first day in Dubai. The pitch was perfect for football and really something that pleases teams from Scandinavia this time of the year.

Jeonbuks winner a brilliant strike
The South Korean champions made 6 changes from the team that started in the 4-2 defeat against Brøndby on Thursday. They looked a much better side today and that must have surprised Ståle Solbakken who saw them struggling in the wind the other day. After 43 minutes Lee Dong Gook hit the ball perfect from more than 20 meters and the ball went in of Stephen Andersens wrigth post.
Svendsens brace gave Molde the victory
A brilliant strike from Sander Svendsen (19 years) and a penalty from Ottar Karlsson gave Molde a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes. Just after an hour the talented Molde player scored again but had to limp off with an ankel injury. After Sander Bergs second strike Hacken came back with Kamara from the penalty spot before the big striker scored again in the 84th.minute, but Solskjaers men hold on to a 3-2 victory.
Unfortunately for Häcken and Rasmus Lindgren he brooke his nose in a duel with Ottar Magnus Karlsson in the opening minute of the match. He will now be sent home to Gothenburg for an operation.

Sandstorm stopped Gothenburg and Molde
A terrible sandstorm today prevented the two Scandinavian teams from training at the JA Center of Excellence. Ole Gunnar Solskjaers Molde had to return from the facility and do the session indoors in the hotels gym.
We can not control the weather, says manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, knowing that the forcast for the rest of the stay is very good.
Jørgen Lennartsson decided after Moldes quick return from the football pitch to do the same as his colleague.
We just split the players in groups, he said with a smile, I know from last year that the conditions will be great as soon as this storm is over.
In the area around the hotel palm trees blew over and different objects were taken by the wind.
Fortunately no games are scheduled for today, but tomorrow four teams are in action in The Dubai International Cup, so we all hope that the weatherforcast is wright.
Danish victory in the wind
The strong wind was on Brøndbys side in the first half, two goals from the Polish striker Kamil Wilczek gave the Danish side a comfortable lead before Jang Yunhos header got the Asian Champions back in the game, but just before halftime Teemu Pukki scored the third for the Danes. After the break Jeonbuk scored again five minutes from the end, by that time Brøndby was reduced to 10 men after Christian Norgaard was sendt off in the 74th.min. Just before the end Rezan Corlu scored a great goal to end the match in a 4-2 win for the Danes.
Brøndby getting ready for the opening match
The new Brøndby manager Alexander Zorniger started the stay in Dubai with two training sessions on the opening day. The german will also have a session on matchday and first up for the team from Copenhagen are the Asian Champions from South Korea. During the stay they will also play against IFK Gothenburg.
Russian victory in Abu Dhabi
The russian league leaders Spartak Moscow beat the Danish Champions 2-1 thanks to an own goal by Jores Okore one minute from the end. Despite loss to the former Juventus coach and player Massimo Carrera, Ståle Solbakken was pleased with the performance. Attending the match at Zayed Sports City was organizer Stefan Schwarz and the coach for The Russian National Team Stanislav Cherchesov.
